Who we are

BoomBoomBattle is a free minesweeper tournament game in the browser. The data controller is the publisher of BoomBoomBattle. For any question about your data: contact@boomboombattle.com.

What we use

• Without an account (guest): a random identifier created on your first visit, the nickname you choose for tournaments, your game level, your points and your tournament history (place, rounds played).
• Your tournament moves: they may be replayed, without your nickname, as “ghost” opponents in other tournaments.
• With an account: also your email address, your unique nickname, and the date and version of the terms you accepted.
• If you sign in with Google: your Google account identifier and its email address. Google also sends us your name and profile picture, which we neither display nor use.
• If you link your Discord account: its identifier and name, shown in your account and used to mention you in our announcements. Discord also sends us your email address and avatar, which we neither display nor use. You can unlink it at any time.
• Technical data: IP address and connection data, kept briefly in our hosts’ logs for security.
• On your device: your session (to stay signed in) and your settings (sound, language, nickname), in the browser’s storage. No advertising cookies, no audience measurement.

Why

To run the game and tournaments, compute your points and the leaderboard, send you your sign-in code, and protect the service against cheating and abuse. The legal basis is providing the service you use and, for the account, your consent. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.

Who can see it

• Other players see your nickname and results during tournaments; an account’s also appear on the leaderboard.
• On the BoomBoomBattle Discord server, we announce under an account’s nickname the rooms it opens and the tiers it reaches.
• Our service providers, on our behalf only: Supabase (database and sign-in), Render (game server and website, in Frankfurt), Cloudflare (domain name and network) and Resend (email delivery, in Ireland). If you choose to sign in with Google or Discord, it knows you use BoomBoomBattle.
• Some are US companies: any transfer outside the European Union is covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

How long

• Guest inactive for 6 months: their data is deleted.
• Account: until it is deleted. Tournament results then remain, anonymized, so other players’ history stays accurate.
• Technical logs: a few weeks at most, depending on the host.
• Log of actions on your data (account creation, consent, nickname change, export, deletion): 3 years, with an unlinked identifier, never your email or nickname.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete or retrieve your data, object to or restrict its use: write to contact@boomboombattle.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL: cnil.fr). In the game, “Account” then “My data” lets you download your data or erase everything, right away.

Age

You must be at least 15 to create an account, or have a parent’s permission.

Changes

If this policy changes significantly, we will let you know in the game.
